Energy and Stats

cover_5_6_02.jpg

Each horse possesses a set of attributes that influence its usefulness for different tasks: Energy, Speed, and Endurance.

Energy

β€˜Horse Energy’ β€” The reserve of strength that each horse can expend to carry you on horseback or pull a Wagon. As long as the horse has Energy, you can move with it across the global map. Once the horse's energy reserve is depleted, you'll need to dismount and continue your journey on foot, leading the horse by the reins.

Please note!
Each horse has its own energy reserve. So you can return to the ranch with a tired horse, switch to another one with full strength, and continue on your endeavors.

By popular demand, we combined two players' requests β€” natural Energy regain and the possibility to feed horses, not just treat them! From now on, you can cultivate Oats in your fields, craft Horse Feed and then place it in the stable's Feeder. Meanwhile, Refined Sugar is still available in the game but was renamed to Horse Sugar Treats. Thus, there are 2 ways to replenish your horses' Energy:

  • Stable Restoration β€” The horse's Energy gradually recovers when a tired horse is at the Ranch and there is food in the stable's Feeder! Horses can feed on any crops grown on your Ranch, such as Corn or Pumpkin. However, Horse Feed made with Oats and Corn is their favorite food, providing the most nourishment for them.
  • Horse Sugar Treats β€” As before, you can treat your trusty steed, instantly replenishing its Energy. The more treats you give, the more energy your current horse regains.

Speed and Endurance

There are 2 other important stats that influence the optimal use of your horse.

  • Speed is a parameter that determines the amount of energy the horse consumes per second while riding.
  • Endurance is a parameter that determines the amount of energy the horse consumes per second while moving with a Wagon.

Perks

cover_5_6_03.jpg

In addition to their main stats, each horse possesses at least one innate perk, a distinctive attribute that grants a bonus to a specific aspect. The most exceptional horses even possess two perks, making them exceedingly rare. Let’s take a close look at the available perks.

  • Energetic β€” The horse has a constant bonus to maximum Energy.
  • Increased Speed β€” The horse has a constant Speed bonus.
  • Increased Endurance β€” The horse has a constant Endurance bonus.
  • Thrifty β€” Reduces the amount of feed consumed from the feeding trough for energy restoration.
  • Fast Metabolism β€” The horse recovers more Energy while in the Stable.
  • Sweet Tooth β€” The horse recovers more units of Energy when eating Sugar Treats.
  • Cargo Carrier β€” Horse has additional inventory slots. Rare perk.
Please note!
Similar to pets, perks can vary in rarity, which is independent of the horse's tier or rarity. This means that a common horse may have an uncommon perk, while an uncommon horse may have a common perk.

Variety of Horses

cover_5_6_04.jpg

As you already may understand a diverse selection of horses with unique attributes is now introduced in Westland Survival. Furthermore, now you have the opportunity to acquire horses that vary not only in their stats but also in their visual designs.

Types of horses

There are 2 types of horses:

  • Riding horses β€” Swift, graceful, and spirited horses are perfect for solo riding.
  • Draft horses β€” Strong and sturdy draft horses are ideal for Wagon transporting.

Both types of horses can perform both functions. You can ride a draft horse or transport a Wagon with a riding horse, but it would be more energy-consuming. However, it's worth noting that horses of different types cannot produce offspring.

Horse breeds and colors

Breed is the primary determining factor of how your horse looks and what perks it has. In the game, you will have the opportunity to own horses of the 7 legendary breeds.

  • Kentucky Saddler β€” A graceful and versatile breed, known for its elegance and refined temperament.
  • Mustang β€” A symbol of untamed freedom and raw spirit, the Mustang is a captivating and resilient breed.
  • Appaloosa β€” A breed known for its striking coat patterns, versatility, and exceptional athleticism.
  • Belgian Draft β€” It’s an imposing powerhouse, known for its sheer strength and gentle demeanor.
  • Percheron β€” A French breed of remarkable elegance and power, embodies grace and strength in perfect harmony.
  • Shire β€” A majestic breed revered for its commanding size, noble presence, and remarkable strength.
  • Arabian β€” A vision of pure grace and beauty, the White Arabian is a premium breed, an exquisite equine specimen!

Each breed can have different coat colors. Some coat colors may be shared among different breeds, but certain horse breeds can also have unique coat colors that are not available to others.

The combination of different breeds and coat colors creates a wide variety of horse appearances that you can acquire.

Tiers and Rarity

Each horse has a tier and rarity. Unlike pets, the minimum tier for a horse is the third. This means you can have horses of tiers 3, 4, and 5. Horses of each tier can have different rarities:

  • Tier 3: common, uncommon, and rare.
  • Tier 4: common, uncommon, and rare.
  • Tier 5: common, uncommon, rare, and epic.

How to get a horse

cover_5_6_05.jpg

You will obtain your first horse when you build a Stable. For all the other horses, you can acquire them through two methods: buying from a breeder or breeding them on your Ranch.

Unlike pets, it is not possible to tame a horse from the wild!

Arabella Gallopridge β€” Stable owner

Despite her young age, Arabella, the charming lady, is the proud owner of the Silverton Stable. With her extensive knowledge of horses, she possesses expertise in proper horse care, feeding, and overall well-being.

At Arabella's stable, you can avail yourself of two services:

  • Purchase a new horse β€” You have the opportunity to buy one of the available horses using Silver coins. As aspiring breeders, you initially have access to a limited selection of horses. However, as your knowledge expands, Arabella will present you with a wider range of rare breeds.
  • Enhance your knowledge of horses β€” By entrusting one or multiple horses to the city stable, you can gain valuable knowledge in return. This will gradually open doors to acquiring even rarer horses for your collection.

Let's delve a bit deeper into transferring horses to the city Stable:

  • By transferring a horse, you enhance your knowledge about horses of the same type (Riding or Draft). As your breed knowledge grows, you'll gain the ability to acquire higher-tier horses from Arabella.
  • Once a horse is transferred, it cannot be returned.
  • You can transfer any of your adult horses, except for the one currently in use by you.
  • There's no need to physically β€˜bring’ the horse to the city. Choosing which horses to transfer is a straightforward process done through a conversation with Arabella.
  • Foals cannot be transferred until they have reached maturity.

Horse Breeding

cover_5_6_06.jpg

Breeding horses is an exciting feature that allows you to expand your equine collection and potentially obtain rare and valuable offspring. This process involves various factors such as breeds, coat colors, types, tiers, and rarity. Here's what you need to know about breeding horses:

  • Types β€” Riding and Draft horses cannot be crossbred. They are not compatible for breeding.
  • Breeds β€” You can breed horses of the same breed or different ones. If the breeds are different, the foal will inherit either the mother's or father's breed.
  • Coat colors β€” The foal is most likely to have the coat color of one of its parents, provided that the coat color is available in their respective breeds. However, there is a possibility of the foal having a different coat color, incorporating colors available in both the father’s and mother’s breeds.
  • Tiers and Rarity β€” It is advisable to breed horses of the same tier and rarity. This increases the chances of the foal having a higher rarity or tier. However, there is a certain possibility that the foal's tier and rarity may remain the same as its parents or even decrease.
  • Food β€” Successful breeding can only occur if there is food present in the feeder.

Foals

  • The tier, rarity, and attributes of a foal can only be determined once it reaches adulthood.
  • Providing food in the feeding trough is essential for the foal to mature into an adult horse.
  • Foals are not suitable for traveling across the global map and can’t be given to Arabella.
  • Just like any other process, nourishment is crucial for the foal’s growth and maturation to a horse.

Fertility

  • Horses, just like pets, possess a Fertility parameter that determines the number of breedings they can participate in.
  • All acquired or bred horses will always have a Fertility value greater than zero.
  • Fertility of horses can be replenished using a concoction known as β€˜Equine Elixir’. However, this potion is an extremely rare elixir and currently can be found only in the game shop.

New Stable

cover_5_6_07.jpg

Now the Stable is more than just a place to live. It provides a comfortable environment where your horses can rest, interact with other horses, and replenish their Energy.

Yes, with the latest update, horses got the ability to restore their Energy over time if an ample supply of food is available in the feeder. You can choose to feed them with any crops or opt for the more efficient Horse Feed made with Oats and Corn.

While natural energy restoration is a great option, there are times when you may need an instant boost. In such cases, you can always rely on the trusty Horse Sugar Treats, which provide an immediate surge of energy to your current equine companion.

As you aim to expand your equine family and diversify your herd, you'll need to invest in upgrading your Stable. Starting at Level 1, the Stable can accommodate up to 2 horses, providing you with a modest beginning. However, as you progress and nurture your equestrian expertise, you can unlock the potential of your Stable by reaching Level 3. At this pinnacle of Stable development, you'll have the capacity to house a magnificent herd of 8 horses, allowing you to create a diverse and thriving equine community!

Total Renovation

In order to accommodate the latest update, any previously owned Stables building has been removed. Don't worry, though! You will find all the resources you spent on its construction, as well as any horse bag items, conveniently waiting for you in your Mailbox. You can use these resources to construct a brand new Level 1 Stable.

During the construction period of the new Stable, please note that your previously owned horse will be temporarily unavailable. Rest assured, once the construction is complete, you will be reunited with your equine companion.

If you have successfully completed the Wagon project prior to this update, here's some exciting news for you! By constructing the new Stable, you will be rewarded with a free Draft Horse. This means that you will now have a total of 2 horses in your possession, expanding your equine family and enhancing your equestrian endeavors. Make the most of this opportunity and enjoy the companionship of your newfound Draft Horse.

Building the first Stable

If you are building the Stable for the first time, in addition to resources, you will need special items such as a Saddle, Bridle, Stirrups, and Horseshoes. You can find them in the special event called β€˜Shootout Spot’ or exchange them with the trader Loren Bernar in Silverton.

Other Improvements

cover_5_6_08.jpg

The update turned out to be extensive, with almost all the attention focused on horses, but there are a few more non-horse innovations.

  • Item rarity display enhancement β€” The design of item cells has been revamped, allowing for easier recognition of rarity without the need to delve into item descriptions.
  • Pet healing β€” Following a strenuous battle, returning to your ranch with an injured pet will initiate an immediate recovery process. Your pet will start regaining its health as soon as you step foot on the ranch premises (Feeder must have feed in it).
