Gold Rush — Defense Mode allows your Alliance to protect its Headquarters and Gold Safe from enemy raids.
Strong defense is just as important as successful attacks. A well-prepared base can prevent gold loss and improve your Alliance’s position on the Gold Rush leaderboard.
How Defense Mode Works
When another Alliance purchases a reveal and launches an attack against your base, your Headquarters becomes vulnerable.
Enemy Members will attack one at a time, attempting to:
— Break through your defenses
— Reach your Safe
— Carry it outside the base territory
If they successfully extract the Safe, your Alliance loses the gold stored inside.
Defense Overview Mode
Alliance Leaders and Deputies can enter Defense Overview Mode to plan the layout of defensive positions.
In this mode, you can:
— Place and rearrange Defense Posts
— Assign defenders to posts
— Adjust positioning for better coverage
Strategic placement is critical to slowing down attackers and protecting the Safe.
Defense Posts
There are two main types of defensive positions:
1. Watch Posts
— Designed for ranged defenders
— Effective at covering open areas and long corridors
2. Guard Posts
— Designed for defenders able to chase attackers a short distance before returning to their post
— More maneuverable and effective at intercepting attackers moving through the base
The number of available defense posts depends on the development level of your Alliance base buildings.
Additionally, Alliance defenders scale with the Tower level:
— As the Tower is upgraded, defenders gain increased health
— Their item durability also increases
Upgrading the Tower significantly strengthens your overall defense.
Defender Equipment & Food
— Defenders use the equipment assigned to them during attacks.
⚠️ Once equipment is assigned to a defender, it cannot be taken back.
— Defenders must be supplied with food, which sustains them at their guard post.
— Some food buffs grant defenders additional health or other advantages while the buff is active.
⚠️ If a defender runs out of food, they will abandon their post and must be resupplied before returning to duty.
— If defender armor becomes damaged, it can be restored using Repair Kits.
Reinforcements
During an enemy raid, defenders may receive reinforcements over time, making prolonged attacks more difficult.
After the Attack
Once an enemy raid ends, your Alliance can:
— Review the outcome
— Adjust defender placement
— Improve equipment
— Reinforce weak points in your base layout
Regular adjustments and coordination through Alliance chat help improve long-term defense performance.
