Watchtowers Overview
Watchtowers provide elevated defenders’ posts, allowing Defenders to engage enemies at long range and gain a positional advantage during attacks.
You can build multiple Watchtowers to strengthen your base’s defensive coverage and improve overall protection.
Each Headquarters level increases the number of Watchtowers you can build, up to a maximum of 5 at HQ Level 5.
Building & Upgrading
Watchtowers require Engineering Materials for both construction and upgrades.
Engineering Materials can be obtained from Gold Rush leaderboard rewards
Upgrading a Watchtower improves the bonuses granted to Defenders, increasing their health and reducing item durability loss.
Tower Upgrade Bonuses
Durability Loss Reduction
Each Watchtower level reduces durability loss by 5% per level:
— Level 1 → −50%
— Level 2 → −55%
— Level 3 → −60%
— Level 4 → −65%
— Level 5 → −70% (maximum)
Alliance bonuse that increases defender gear durability stack with these effects.
Defender HP Bonus
Each level increases Defender HP by 25%:
— Level 1 → 100%
— Level 2 → 125%
— Level 3 → 150%
— Level 4 → 175%
— Level 5 → 200% (maximum)
Higher HP significantly improves Defender survivability, especially when combined with armor that provides additional HP bonuses.
Attack Range
Watchtowers have a fixed attack range of 150%.
Without a Spotlight, the effective range is reduced, limiting long-distance engagement — particularly at night.
Turning on the Spotlight from the Power Station allows the Watchtower to operate at full range.
Gameplay Impact
Watchtowers provide consistent long-range pressure, forcing attackers to approach the tower in order to eliminate the Defender. This creates a strong positional advantage for the defending Alliance.
Increased HP, reduced durability loss, and enhanced defensive positioning make higher-level Watchtowers a valuable investment for long-term base defense.
Despite the material cost, upgrading Watchtowers is generally worthwhile due to the cumulative survivability and equipment protection benefits.
