John arrived to Westland with a bunch of ideas and illusions and tried everything he could: he was a cowboy and a merchant, he wanted to become a Sheriff. But he ended up working for a small local newspaper, Silverton Herald.
He works as a correspondent, principal writer, managing editor and publisher there. The newspaper brings small income, so the main but not the most reliable source of income for John is selling information: he is always eager to learn everything first and sell the info about it as soon as possible. Sometimes the intel he sells is not the most ethical.
John is burdened by this situation, but he believes that with the growth of the city and with the advent of civilization his newspaper will generate more income, and he will be able to devote himself entirely to what he dreamed of — honest journalistic work.
